This year I have been working with soft pastels, which are very messy, but a lot of fun. Learning from Stephie Clark has been a great experience as I love her work, although I have applied her concepts to landscapes as well as florals.

Watercolour Gallery

During my year of experimenting with watercolours, I experienced disasters, frustration, the occasional 'happy accident' and a whole lot of fun and laughs. After much playing I had some success and paintings that I was happy with. It is the most difficult but the most fun medium!

I love our New Zealand landscapes!  Des (husband) and I have enjoyed many holidays around the country, with my camera ready to take reference shots for painting.
Recently I have used reference photos from some amazing photographers, (always asking permission of course).

Much of this is my 'trying to find my style' patch, where I have had a fun journey trying out several different techniques; some with heavily textured canvases, some with simplified forms thinking 'how can I represent this?' rather than 'what does it look like,' and some florals.
